Must promote Punjabi to spread Sikhism, says Sirsa

He said this while speaking during an award distribution function organised by the Punjabi Promotion Forum (PPF) at Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Karol Bagh. Appreciating the service being done by the PPF, he said in present time the youth were leaving the Punjabi language. He said in such a situation, “Sikhi” could be promoted with the development of the Punjabi language. It is our duty to promote and publicise the Punjabi language,” he said.

He said in such a situation, “Sikhi” could be promoted with the development of the Punjabi language. “If our children forget Gurmukhi, they will forget their history and will be unable to read and understand Guru Granth Sahib’s power. It is our duty to promote and publicise the Punjabi language,” he said. “I am happy knowing that women who had no knowledge of Punjabi are now teaching the language to children. They belong to other religions and therefore, the PPF deserves appreciation,” he said. He said with the help of the PPF, the DSGMC was launching promotion and publicity work of the Punjabi language devoted to 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev.
