Noida all set to go plastic free

Noida: Noida is all set to go "plastic-free" as the Noida authority has adopted several environmental friendly options under their initiative "Say No to Plastics" which has been started from Wednesday. Noida authority CEO, Ritu Maheshwari said that the main purpose of initiative is to make people aware to switch over to cloth bags and completely do away with plastic bags when they go to purchase groceries. Under the drive, the authority distributed cloth bags during Jansunwai at Noida Authority premises at Sector-6. "To make people aware about the negative environmental impacts of plastics and encourage them to use environmental friendly alternatives, the Noida Authority has come up with 'Say No to Plastics' initiative under which the authority proposes to make Noida a plastic-free zone. Under this drive, awareness will be created among Noida residents regarding negative impacts of using single use plastic bags and also encourage them to switch over to sustainable options available.
