Pen literature that conveys message of harmony: SisodiaTribune News ServiceNew Delhi, August 20The Government of Delhi today awarded with prestigious awards to the renowned Urdu scholars and writers for their contribution towards Urdu literature and language in a function organised by Urdu Academy of Government of Delhi at Delhi Secretariat. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia conferred the awards and prizes to Urdu scholars, writers, poets, journalists and other literary personalities for their contribution in promoting Urdu language and literature for the year 2018-19. The writers of Urdu were awarded with cash prizes worth Rs 1,01,000 to Rs 2,51,000 with citations and mementos. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CM Sisodia appealed the Urdu writers to create more and more Urdu Literature giving message to the readers to preserve and inculcate the feelings of communal harmony and patriotism. He congratulated the Urdu scholars and said that it is the writers and thinkers, who ensure change and bring inqlab in the society through their creative writings with the power of their pen.

Ex-vice chancellor Jamia Millia Islamia Sahid Mehdi presided over the function and secretary Urdu Academy SM Ali were also present on this occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CM Sisodia appealed the Urdu writers to create more and more Urdu Literature giving message to the readers to preserve and inculcate the feelings of communal harmony and patriotism. He congratulated the Urdu scholars and said that it is the writers and thinkers, who ensure change and bring inqlab in the society through their creative writings with the power of their pen. Sisodia said the Delhi Government was committed to promote different languages of the country for which the government had approval the proposal to establish various language academies.
