Final deadline for RFID tags on Aug 23 midnight violators to be fined

New Delhi: Both the SDMC and the EPCA have made it clear that the deadline for pre-registration of RFID tags and recharge of tags will not be extended beyond the midnight of August 23, 2019. Keeping in view this decision, the SDMC has exhorted commercial vehicle owners/transporters to visit the permanent point of sale (POS) installed at 13 entry points/RFID toll plaza for pre-registration for RFID tags and recharge of tags. The ECC and MCD toll rates have been decided based on vehicle categories. In all, 1,35,000 RFID tags have been sold as of Wednesday afternoon. Recharging the RFID tags through mobile, the customer can download the MCD Toll App from the Mobile Play Store by registering their mobile number.

Earlier, the transporters and transporters union had requested the SDMC Mayor, Chairmans Committee and the EPCA for extension of deadlines for entry of commercial vehicles into Delhi with RFID tags/sufficient recharge amount from midnight of August 23. Keeping in view this decision, the SDMC has exhorted commercial vehicle owners/transporters to visit the permanent point of sale (POS) installed at 13 entry points/RFID toll plaza for pre-registration for RFID tags and recharge of tags. The SDMC has also set up the following six POS in Haryana and U.P. before entering Delhi: Tikri Main, Bahadurgarh By-Pass Road, Near New Bus Stand Haryana; Indian Oil Petrol Pump, Near Biswa Mill, GT Karnal Road, Kundli Sonepat, Haryana; GT Road, Anand Industrial Estate, Mohan Nagar, in front of ITS College, Ghaziabad, UP; Sector-1, Heritage Village Resort, Manesar Police Station, NH-8, Manesar, Haryana; NH 24 Bridge, UP Gate, Ghaziabad, UP; NHAI & MCD Toll Tax Badarpur Haryana Border near Bharti Petrol Pump, Agra Road, Badarpur. Following this decision, all commercial vehicles entering Delhi without an RFID tag or sufficient balance after August 23 midnight will have to pay a penalty, which will amount to twice the specified rates of ECC and MCD toll during the first week, four times the specified rates in the second week, and six times the specified rates in the third week. The ECC and MCD toll rates have been decided based on vehicle categories. In all, 1,35,000 RFID tags have been sold as of Wednesday afternoon. The transporters with the big fleet of vehicles can contact representatives of our toll operator MEP Infrastructure Developers Limited on above mentioned location or on their telephone numbers DND-7903176120, Rajokari- 9354320562 and KGT (Kundli)- 9205262947 for providing arranging mobile vans/POS to their desired location for getting the pre-registration of commercial vehicles along with recharge of tags. Recharging the RFID tags through mobile, the customer can download the MCD Toll App from the Mobile Play Store by registering their mobile number.
