PCR helped over 300 people in distress

As many as 45 women who were in labour pain were taken to hospital in PCR vans. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR) Shankar Choudhary told Millennium Post that proper medical kits are there in nearly 700 PCR vehicles. As many as 114 persons including children were rescued by PCR vans. Last year, PCR vans shifted 44,930 injured persons to the hospitals for giving them immediate medical aid. In another case, PCR staff, while patrolling, noticed an accident victim, who was lying beside a damaged scooty near a bus stand in Dilshad Garden.

New Delhi: Whether it was curbing suicide or helping women deliver babies, the Delhi Police Control Room (PCR) unit, in the year 2019, has came to the aid of more than 300 distressed people. According to city police, they have trained their staff to handle any emergency. As many as 45 women who were in labour pain were taken to hospital in PCR vans. In eight cases, cops helped women deliver babies in the PCR van. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR) Shankar Choudhary told Millennium Post that proper medical kits are there in nearly 700 PCR vehicles. "We have trained our staff in such a way that they can handle such medical emergency," said Choudhary. Adding further, the Additional DCP stated that during strike of ambulance drivers, they started getting more calls related to labour pain. "Without wasting time, we reached to the PCR caller and took the woman in our van to the hospital," said Choudhary. As many as 114 persons including children were rescued by PCR vans. These distressed people were either missing or found roaming on the road. Several injured people, who were found in various places, were shifted to hospitals. The data further revealed that cops also saved 17 people, who were trying to commit suicide. "As many as 44 people were rescued from drowning, fire and natural calamity," said Additional DCP. Last year, PCR vans shifted 44,930 injured persons to the hospitals for giving them immediate medical aid. PCR SAVES LIVES A press statement of Delhi Police reads that in the intervening night of 15 and 16 August, the MPV staff received a call about a lady in labour pain at Shanti Colony near Jawahar Bhawan. "The MPV staff reached the spot where the caller stated that his wife is in labour pain. The MPV staff immediately shifted the lady to the hospital," said DCP (PCR) Deepak Purohit in the statement. In another case, PCR staff, while patrolling, noticed an accident victim, who was lying beside a damaged scooty near a bus stand in Dilshad Garden. The staff took him in the MPV and rushed him to the hospital. On August 15, a PCR call was received regarding a car stuck in waterlogged railway underpass in Badarpur. It was also informed that the doors and windows of the car were jammed and not opening. The police staff rushed to the spot and found a BMW car submerged under the Railway Bridge Pulparhladpur. "The occupant of the car was trapped inside the car. The staff immediately stepped in the deep water and broke the window of the car. The occupant was pulled out of the car," police said.
