"Over 50 notices were issued to lodging houses in which 30 were found pending," sources added. We are not able to register these eating houses due to non-availability of valid HTL," reads a letter written to the MCD.

New Delhi: The Commissioner of Delhi Police, in a meeting, reviewed the application and survey pendency status related to licensing in various districts. Police sources told the Millennium Post that the meeting was held at Delhi Police Headquarters (PHQ). The meeting was held in the first week of August with senior officers. Sources said that the top cop, apart from reviewing anti-terror measures taken by districts, took stock of various verification reports including the details in respect to existing arms licenses sought from districts as on July 31. Highly placed sources said that there are more than 60,000 arms licenses. More than 41,000 licenses were verified by six ranges of Delhi Police. The two districts had separately verified more than 5,000 licenses. Sources further added that in the meeting there was a discussion on antecedent verification reports pending with districts. A survey report related to eating and lodging houses by districts was also reviewed during the meeting. Earlier this year, the Delhi Police Licensing Unit asked districts to furnish the antecedent verification reports in respect to the applications for renewal of arms licenses. Quoting the contents of the letter sent by the licensing unit to other officers, police sources told Millennium Post, "The delay in submission of antecedent verification reports hampers further processing and disposal of applications within the timelines stipulated in the Arms Rules 2016 by the Licensing Unit besides causing inconvenience to citizens leaving them holding expired arms licenses." The notices issued in respect to eating and lodging houses was one of the important points of discussion in the meeting. More than 3,000 notices were issued to eating houses in which over 1,700 notices were found pending with districts and units. "Over 50 notices were issued to lodging houses in which 30 were found pending," sources added. In May, a letter was sent to one of the MCDs with the subject related to the status of Health Trade Licenses (HTL) issued to various eating houses in the municipal area. "A total of 137 applications pertaining to municipal area of the municipal body seeking fresh registration of eating houses are pending with us wherein either Health Trade License (HTL) is not submitted or the submitted HTL is not valid . We are not able to register these eating houses due to non-availability of valid HTL," reads a letter written to the MCD.
