Delhi Police arrests wanted robber

NEW DELHI: A notorious robber infamous for assault on police officers and wanted in many robbery cases has been arrested by crime branch of Delhi Police. Thereafter, he along with his associates started committing armed robberies in parts of Delhi and had been arrested several times. He was involved in several cases of robbery, assault on police officials, NDPS Act etc, in Delhi and Ghaziabad, he has been declared a proclaimed offender in two cases of Sarita Vihar, and Jyoti Nagar, Delhi. He was earlier residing at Sunder Nagari and Loni, Ghaziabad but frequently changed his address and was presently residing in Jhuggis Near Post office, Sultanpuri in Delhi. He has also been declared Proclaimed Offender in a case of Arms Act of Police Station Jyoti Nagar in Delhi.

The accused Rajiv has been arrested from Sultanpuri on August 24. On interrogation, accused Rajiv disclosed that he was born in Sundar Nagri, Delhi. He studied up to 2nd class. After the death of his father, he fell in bad company and started pick-pocketing along with his friends. Thereafter, he along with his associates started committing armed robberies in parts of Delhi and had been arrested several times. He was involved in several cases of robbery, assault on police officials, NDPS Act etc, in Delhi and Ghaziabad, he has been declared a proclaimed offender in two cases of Sarita Vihar, and Jyoti Nagar, Delhi. He was earlier residing at Sunder Nagari and Loni, Ghaziabad but frequently changed his address and was presently residing in Jhuggis Near Post office, Sultanpuri in Delhi. In 2011, he was arrested in a case of robbery of Sarita Vihar and after coming out from jail, he deliberately avoided his appearance in the concerned court on which he was declared proclaimed offender by the court. He has also been declared Proclaimed Offender in a case of Arms Act of Police Station Jyoti Nagar in Delhi.
