New Delhi: Three men received grievous burn injuries in South East Delhis Shaheen Bagh as the internet wire, thrown out of the window by a worker, accidentally touched the high tension wire resulting in an explosion on the 2nd floor of the building. "A call of fire in E- 95, 2nd floor was received at 12.30 pm Shaheen Bagh. The building owner Shamsh Tabrez has constructed 4 storeyed flats. The fire was the on 2nd floor as the renovation inside was going on and one internet wala was fixing net connection. When he threw the wire from the window, it came in contact with the high tension wire lines adjoining the flats and suddenly there was blast," said Addiotional DCP South East, Kumar Gyanesh. As a result, the wall of the adjoining room was damaged and it caught fire. The tenant identified as Masisul Zama (30), a painter Javed (40) and the tenants friend Mohammad Wakar (26) sustained burn injuries. The painter was painting the room while the internet network technician was fixing the line when the tragedy took place. Two fire tenders were also rushed to the accident spot, the fire was completely controlled by the evening. Lots of onlookers gathered at the site and tried to save the injured. Police said that further action will be taken accordingly after recording the statements of the injured. Shaheen Bagh, a locality in South East Jamia Nagar is situated around High tension wires. Some houses are just some feets away from the high voltage wires and accidents like these often happned in the area. Some houses was built exactly under the high tension and the roads are also locally famous as High tension wali road. In 2016, in the month of April, two workers died after they came in contact of high tension wire while doing some electric fitting work in the house.
