4 held for robbing bizman at gunpoint

"Cash amounting to Rs 60,000 was reported to have been kept in the dashboard of the car," said DCP Rohini. During the investigation, the police team found the robbed car in Rohini sector 20.

New Delhi: For Vishal Kumar, a businessman who deals with old cars, the night of October 12 turned into a nightmare as he was robbed of his car, money and other valuables at gunpoint by five persons in Begampur area. Police have arrested four people in the case from Rohinis Sector 20 area. According to police, at around 9:50 pm on Saturday, Begumpur police received information regarding dacoity in which an Alto car, two mobile phones and cash were robbed at gunpoint by five boys. Kumar told police that after dropping his friend in Begumpur village, he was returning home in his Alto car when the robbery took place. "He stopped on way to relieve himself near Helipad road. When he was about to restart his car, a boy accosted him on the pretext of asking the route to sector-24. Suddenly that boy took out the ignition key and forced him at gunpoint to get out of the car," an officer said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) SD Mishra said that four more boys with knives, who were hiding in the bushes also reached there. While one of them caught him by the neck, others started searching him. They robbed his mobile phones, a purse containing ATM card, voter card and driving license and other documents and fled in his car. "Cash amounting to Rs 60,000 was reported to have been kept in the dashboard of the car," said DCP Rohini. Adding further, DCP said that the victim was shown dossier of the recently released criminals who in turn identified one Kamruddin as the probable culprit involved in the crime. During the investigation, the police team found the robbed car in Rohini sector 20. "Kamruddin with his three associates were nabbed by the police team while they tried to move the car," police said. Police identified other accused as Intkab, Akash, Harsh. "Intkab and Akash were first-timers and Harsh has a criminal past," police said. Kamruddin was involved in 19 criminal cases.
