Apex court raps Delhi Police for having BS-IV vehicles’ fleet
| Saturday | 19th October, 2019
A Bench of Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Deepak Gupta queried the Delhi Police on its failure to procure BS-VI norm compliant vehicles.
“BS-VI vehicles are readily available in the market, and they go around the city.
Why didn’t you buy these vehicles,” the court asked the Delhi Police counsel, citing the emission from BS-VI diesel vehicles are virtually close to emission from petrol vehicles.
The court reminded the Delhi Police that the mandatory BS-VI norms will be applicable in early 2020, and it is important for the police force to procure vehicles accordingly.
