IPU to give scholarship to female students

New Delhi: To encourage more female students to pursue higher education, Guru Gobind Singh IP University on Tuesday signed a Memorendum of Understanding (MOU) with Canada based company Hatch India to financially support female students pursuing UG and PG programmes in different branches of engineering and technology at the university. Students belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) from colleges such as School of Information, Communication & Technology (USIC&T), will be given the "Hatch Scholarship for Women in STEM'. The MOU was signed by the Registrar of the University Ravi Dadhich and the Director – Hatch India Ruby Rajvanshi. "The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage female students to pursue higher education in STEM fields," said a statement from the university. Depending on the funds allocated by the Hatch India for the academic year 2019-20, at least 12 female students from various branches will be identified for the scholarship.

The maximum limit of financial assistance given to an applicant will be Rs 75,000 in an academic year. "However, in exceptional circumstances, the committee may recommend the grant of financial assistance exceeding Rs 75,000," said the statement.
