New Delhi: A 22-year-old man killed his mother by hitting her with an iron rod in North East Delhis Jyoti Nagar area. Police have arrested the accused in the case. The accused was a drug addict and short-tempered. Police identified the accused as Ashutosh. He was arrested from Ghaziabad on Monday. On September 17 around 10:30 am, when his mother was performing Pooja, he asked her mother to give some money but his mother did not reply as she was praying. He asked 7-8 times to her mother for the same but she did not reply. Accused Ashutosh got furious and took one iron rod and hit on the head of his mother several times and fled. Police said that the victim Shiksha Devi was admitted to hospital by her son Mukul. The victims son Ashutosh was absconding since the very same time of the incident. As per CCTV footage available, he was the last seen person after the incident. On dated September 21 Shiksha Devi succumbed to her injuries. Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Ved Prakash Surya said that after the murder the accused stayed at the different railway stations of Uttar Pardesh.
