New Delhi: In the last two weeks, the Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum (EMC), saw 3,000 entrepreneurs sign up as volunteers in Delhi government schools to interact with students and share their on field experiences with them. 134 government schools have conducted multiple interactive sessions of students of class 11 and 12 with entrepreneurs from across the city. Over 350 interactions have been held so far with 25,000 students. Officials in the education department of Delhi government said that over Rs 28 crore has been allocated for EMC project which has 2,80,000 students who will receive a sum of Rs 1,000 each as "seed money." The entrepreneurship curriculum is still in the ideation process where students are exploring their options as where to spend the seed money on. Maximum of 60 students in each interactive session is allowed. Following the ideation process, students will form teams and present their proposals in the classrooms for feedback. A source in the Delhi government said, "students have a lot of questions like –How do we allocate money, what should we work, what is a good business opportunity, and many more such questions. The objective of the session is to give the student a chance to clarify their doubt and get their questions answered by experts. The entrepreneurs who signed up through online forms as volunteers find it a way to give back to the society through these interactive sessions. They are happy to answer each and every question but they are not allowed to promote their own products or businesses through these sessions." "Entrepreneurs for these sessions come from various backgrounds and need not only be business associated. They could be doctors or local businessmen and they could have an interactive session on how to bounce back from failures, leadership qualities, and other relevant topics too," said a source. Entrepreneurs find these interactive sessions revolutionary and have said that it enhances the students all round development. There are 1,030 government schools in the National Capital Territory (NCT). On February 13, Delhi government launched "Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum Framework" for government schools. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had said that by launching the curriculum, the Delhi government had set an example to help solve employment issues in the country, and enable the schools in Delhi to become the best in the world.
