14 kgs heroin worth Rs 50 cr seized 2 held

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police special cell has arrested two persons and seized 14 kilograms of high quantity heroine worth 50 crores in the international market. The two arrested men have been identified as Sanjeet Kumar Singh and Pradeep Kumar Yadav. "The spot interrogation of Sanjeet and PradeepYadav disclosed that one Didi of Manipur (real name not known) is a notorious drug dealer. She procures Heroin from Nepal, Myanmar and Bangladesh and delivers the same to her contacts at Siliguri, West-Bengal in a safe manner. Now this new route has emerged as a major source of supply of Heroin for International drug cartels operative in Indian sub-continent.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police special cell has arrested two persons and seized 14 kilograms of high quantity heroine worth 50 crores in the international market. The two arrested men have been identified as Sanjeet Kumar Singh and Pradeep Kumar Yadav. Both were receivers of an illegal consignment of drugs from North-Eastern states. Cops received specific information that two key members of an international drug cartel Sanjeet and Pardeep, both residents of U.P, have picked up a huge consignment of heroin from one woman locally known as Didi of Siliguri, West-Bengal and they would come to Sector-24, Rohini to supply the same to their Delhi based contact. Accordingly, a trap was laid down at the place of information. At about 7 am, two persons carrying a bag in their hands got down from an e-Rickshaw near the spot and started waiting for someone. Both the persons were easily apprehended by the raiding team members. Duly complying with the legal formalities, their bags were searched from which two parcels, each having 7 Kg.of fine quality heroin, were recovered. In total, 14 Kg. of fine quality heroin was recovered from the duo. "The spot interrogation of Sanjeet and PradeepYadav disclosed that one Didi of Manipur (real name not known) is a notorious drug dealer. She procures Heroin from Nepal, Myanmar and Bangladesh and delivers the same to her contacts at Siliguri, West-Bengal in a safe manner. Investigation I son to know her identity," said DCP Special Cell, Sanjeev Yadav. The police suspects that the drug was meant to be supplied in the New Year parties. The growing demand of illicit drug trade in India is now solely dependent on the newly emerged smuggling route, involving neighbouring countries Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Now this new route has emerged as a major source of supply of Heroin for International drug cartels operative in Indian sub-continent.
