Historic Sports University Bill passed in Delhi Assembly

NEW DELHI: Delhi Legislative Assembly on Monday passed 'Delhi Sports University Bill-2019 in last session of the AAP-led-government.
Terming it historic, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the University will enable India's sportspersona to win Olympic medals and uphold 'the pride of our great nation'.
While presenting the Bill, Manish Sisodia, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister said, "This bill is the outcome of a big dream of the Delhi government and the people of Delhi.
The campus of the Sports University will be set up in Mundka in West Delhi.
"The Chancellor of the Delhi Sports University will be the Liuetenant- Governor of Delhi and the President of India shall be the Visitor of the Delhi Sports University.
