Sushant Singh Rajput death: Amit Shah sends letter to Pappu Yadav acknowledging CBI probe demand

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14, exactly a month ago. But his fans have not been able to come to terms with the devastating news. While the 34-year-old actor`s untimely demise opened up a discussion on nepotism, favouritism and bullying within the Bollywood industry, many, including several political personalities, urged for a CBI inquiry into his death to understand if the actor was pushed into it. Today, Home Minister Amit Shah has sent a letter to Pappu Yadav of Jan Adhikar Party, acknowledging his request for a CBI inquiry in Sushant Singh Rajput`s suicide case.

While the 34-year-old actor`s untimely demise opened up a discussion on nepotism, favouritism and bullying within the Bollywood industry, many, including several political personalities, urged for a CBI inquiry into his death to understand if the actor was pushed into it. Today, Home Minister Amit Shah has sent a letter to Pappu Yadav of Jan Adhikar Party, acknowledging his request for a CBI inquiry in Sushant Singh Rajput`s suicide case.

Yadav took to his official Twitter page to share a copy of the letter he received from the office of Amit Shah. The letter stated that Yadav`s request was received on June 16, 2020, where a CBI probe into Sushant Singh Rajput`s suicide case was demanded. Since CBI doesn`t come under MHA and falls under DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training), Amit Shah said in the letter that he is forwarding it to the concerned ministry.

Yadav, in his tweet, however, urged Shah to take a more immediate action. He tweeted, "Amit Shah ji, aap chahein toh ek minute mein Sushant mamle ki CBI jaanch ho sakti hai. Isse taale nahin. Bihar ke gaurav film abhineta Sushant Singh Rajput ki sandigdha mrityu ki CBI jaanch ke liye kendriya griha mantri ko patra likh agraha kiya tha. Unhone kaarwahi ke liye patra agrasarit kar diya hai (Amit Shah ji, if you want, there can be a CBI inquiry in Sushant case in a minute. Do not avoid it! A letter was sent to the Union Home Minister requesting for a CBI inquiry into the suspicious death of film actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the pride of Bihar. He has forwarded the letter to the concerned ministry for action) (sic)."

Earlier, Subramanian Swamy had also supported the demand for a CBI probe into Sushant Singh Rajput`s suicide case. He wrote on Twitter that he has instructed Ishkaran Singh Bhandari, lawyer and political analyst, to look into the matter in-depth and find out if the case is fit for a CBI investigation. "I have asked Ishkaran to look into facts of Sushant Singh Rajput death case & see whether it`s a fit Case for CBI investigation. Then accordingly to see justice is done. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police have been investigating the death of Sushant Sigh Rajput. A total of 30 people have recorded their statements in the case, that includes his family, girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, Dil Bechara director Mukesh Chhabra, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali who he was supposed to work with, and more. Several of Sushant`s professional and personal contacts are being questioned to understand if the actor was pushed into taking his own life due to an existing professional rivalry within the industry.
