JP Nadda, Amit Shah meet Sonowal and Sarma in Delhi, wait for Assam CM continues

Two rounds of meetings have been completed so far, in which Nadda, Shah and BJP general secretary BL Santosh held separate meetings with the two leaders. The third round of the meeting is going on, in which the top leadership of the BJP is talking to the two leaders simultaneously.

A high-level meeting was held at BJP national president JP Nadda`s residence to finalise the name of the new Assam Chief Minister. Home minister Amit Shah, Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma were present in this high-level meeting held at JP Nadda`s house. Now tomorrow there will be a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party in Guwahati, in which a new Chief Minister will be announced.

Along with both Sonowal and Sarma, Bimal Bora, Tarang Gogoi, Mukul Lahkar, Mantu Thakuria, Santanu Kalita and Gautam Prasad arrived in Delhi in the morning on a chartered flight.

Sarma said after the meeting that the BJP Legislature Party will meet in Assam on Sunday to elect its leader. Sonowal, who belongs to the Sonowal-Kachari tribal community of Assam, and Sarma, the convenor of the North East Democratic Alliance, are strong contenders for the chief minister`s post.
