The key purpose of the scheme is to encourage parents to educate their daughters.

BJP has brought many Schemes for facilitating women and girls. Followed by Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, the government has come with another scheme in favor of Muslim females.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs under the government has decided to provide Rs 51,000 to the Muslim girls who will complete their graduation before marriage. Maulana Azad Education Foundation had come up with this idea aiming to encourage the welfare of young women by educating them.

This scheme benefits the ones who have already received Begum Hazrat Mahal scholarship funded by Maulana Azad Education Foundation. In the BHMS, the girls belong to communities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis.

It was noticed that families were more thoughtful on getting their daughter married than educating them and so the ministry thought this as a key step in provoking the families for the importance of education.
