  • | Wednesday | 14th December, 2022

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), erstwhile Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS), announced the arrival of its supremo and Telangana chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, at the centre stage of national politics on Wednesday with a Hindi song “Desh Ke liye aa rahe hain KCR”. The party’s new headquarters in New Delhi was inaugurated in the presence of other regional party leaders including Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and Janata Dal (secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy. Amidst chants of Vedic mantras, Rao, more popularly known as KCR, inaugurated the new party office at Sardar Patel Marg in the National Capital at the auspicious moment between 12:37 and 12:47 pm. He hoisted the new flag on BRS and then assumed his chair and signed documents as party cadres enthusiastically raised party slogans. Earlier, a two-day long Raja Shyamala homam was conducted at the party office which is currently functioning from rented premises. It will shift to its own building at Vasant Vihar once the construction is complete. Apart from VCK party president and MP Thirumavalavan and farmer leaders, a number BRS MLAs, ministers, Hyderabad mayor and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha Rao were present at the inauguration. However, working president KT Rama Rao gave it a miss due to a meeting with investors and political programmes. In a message, he said the entry of KCR in national politics would lead to qualitative change in the country. Meanwhile, BRS MP K Keshav Rao released the Hindi song on KCR and BRS at the new party office. The song sung by party leader Arvind Alishetty hails KCR as the leader who will lead the nation on the path of progress and glory. The song also mentions issues like safety and empowerment of women, jobs for youth and country’s security which KCR promised to deliver. In a subtle dig at the contemporary politics the lyrics go… “jhooth pe sacch ki vijay le ke aa raha hain KCR (KCR is coming to ensure victory of truth over lies)”. The chief minister has repeatedly attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for misleading the public. According to the BRS, the new song was composed and sung after the Election Commission of India (ECI) gave its approval to change the name of TRS to BRS.
