A 75-year-old man and his wife were thrashed by their neighbours over a dispute related to parking in Noida's posh ATS Village in Sector 93, police said on Monday. The victim, Subhash Chandra Chibber, 75, had filed a police complaint in this regard on March 17, following which a First Information Report (FIR) was registered. Chibber said on the occasion of Lohri on January 13, an argument broke out between him and the neighbours when he objected to a Mercedes parked in the society. "After shopping for the festival, I was returning to my apartment in the golf cart provided by the society when I saw two persons of my society in their Mercedes, which was parked in an inappropriate position. I confronted them and requested them to remove the vehicle as it was hindering my entrance. They, however, started abusing me in vulgar language," he said. "Ignoring them, I returned to my apartment. Then I called up their mother to complain about their behaviour," Chhibber said. According to the police complaint, later on March 16, the complainant was returning from his yoga classes when three men, identified as Lokesh Garg, 29, Kunal Garg, 27, and their driver, allegedly attacked and injured him. When his wife Aarti came to know about this, she rushed to the spot and tried to stop the agitated men. "My domestic help came to me and told me about the condition of my husband, who was being harassed. When I tried to stop them, they beat me up as well and I suffered serious ligament injury on my hand," she said. "After the complaint was registered, the three accused were arrested and produced in the court, where they were granted bail," said Rashid Ali, SHO, Phase II. Meanwhile, the victim has further alleged that the police registered the FIR under only a few sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which weakened their case. He also claimed that he was not allowed to go through the CCTV footage.
