more-in Two alleged pickpockets jumped off the second floor of the Connaught Place police station building on Sunday night. According to the police, the incident was reported around 10 p.m., when the cops rushed them to RML Hospital. Tried climbing down tree A police officer said that they had received a call from Connaught Place (CP) about the two men trying to get away with someone’s mobile phone. The duo had been detained at the CP police station for questioning. A senior police officer said that they had been made to sit on the ground floor with a policeman keeping an eye on them. “A constable was noting down their details when the men rushed to the second floor. They first tried to escape by climbing down a tree. When they didn’t succeed, they jumped off,” claimed the officer. They sustained minor injuries, the police said. The incident is similar to the one reported from Adarsh Nagar police station last year, where a suspect detained for questioning fell from the terrace and died. The cops had tried to hush up the matter claiming it was a suicide and later dumping the body in an open ground.
