Medical fraternity is administered Hippocratic Oath before passing but do they follow what they preach. This question once again surfaced after seven year old Adya Singh died due to dengue in Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram.

The family of Adya alleged medical negligence. The news had hit made headlines. The family which is yet to come out of the trauma has accused the Fortis Gurugram of over billing.  

Jayant Singh`s revelations were shocking as it explained how these big hospitals treat their patients. Patient party regard them no less than God but they only understand business. The family spent around Rs 16 lakh.   

Health Minister JP Nadda has asked Fortis for a detailed report. The question is what is government doing to check the menace, Fortis is no exception, this is just story of old wine in new bottle.

Unless and until centre will take an initiative on the lines of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee who constituted a Health Tribunal empowering people to file their grievances and even threatened that licenses would be cancelled if found guilty of evading charges.
