CHANDIGARH: The body of a non-resident Indian woman was found under mysterious circumstances inside a room of a hotel in Faridabad on Friday.The body was recovered from the bathtub of the room. The woman was the wife of a New Jersey-based trader.Identified as Ritu, the woman had checked into the Taj Vivanta hotel on April 22 and was scheduled to check out on April 26. She stayed in room number 631.On Thursday morning, the woman had left instructions at reception asking them to not to forward any call or to allow and staffer or visitor to her room.Police said that on Thursday morning, her family members called her on mobile. As her phone was not reachable, they called the hotel reception to enquire about her.As the calls made by reception too went unanswered, the security staff were informed and police were informed. Police officials and hotel's security staff broke open the door and found her body floating in the bath tub.According to information, Ritu had married Arun Kumar in March last year. Besides Arun, she is survived by three sisters and a brother who lives in a south Delhi locality.Police are yet to ascertain whether the woman drowned or committed suicide. Police have been deployed at the hotel untill her husband reaches Delhi.Police spokesperson Sube Singh said that after marrying Arun, Ritu would frequently visit India and stay in hotel."Her husband has ruled out any foul play into the incident. We have sealed the room and the area around the room and the dead body has been sent to hospital for the postmortem," said the spokesperson.
