BTech student found dead, note says suicide

FARIDABAD: A 21-year-old BTech committed suicide in a south Delhi apartment, and his decomposed body was found by his grandparents when they came to see him.The grandparents called the police, who then arrived and took the body to a hospital where the doctors said the youth was dead for at least four days.The deceased was identified as Rahul. Police said a suicide note was found lying on the bed. It was written in English and read: "I am sorry. This is my mistake and I blame my mindset for taking this step."Rahul's family members were informed and they reached Delhi on Monday evening from Faridabad . A senior police officer said they had gone there a week ago and Rahul was supposed to join them on Saturday evening.But when he didn't come, they tried to get in touch on phone but in vain. Rahul's friends also tried to reach him but couldn't.The family then asked Rahul's grandparents to go and check on him. They said a strong stench emanated from the room, which reached as far as the staircase. When they broke open the door, they found Rahul's body hanging from a ceiling fan.Rahul had made it to National School of Drama and was excited about it. His mother, who is a deputy director with CBSE, was inconsolable. His father is a senior official at a private company.A senior police officer said the body deteriorated due to excessive heat and there being no ventilation.Police said postmortem would be conducted on Tuesday after which the body would be handed over to the family. Police also said that they don't suspect any foul play.
