NEW DELHI: A 16-year-old widow , whose ‘husband’ had allegedly committed suicide two months ago, was stabbed to death by three men in southeast Delhi’s Badarpur on Monday evening. The killer was identified as the elder brother of the victim’s husband’s elder brother, who had blamed the girl for his brother’s death.DCP (southeast) Chinmoy Biswal said that the accused, Amit (23), was arrested and charged under IPC for murder (Section 302). Teams are also looking for two of his associates , who are yet to be identified.The incident took place on Monday evening at Tajpur Pahari in Badarpur. Locals found a girl lying in a pool of blood and rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was declared brought dead.The victim’s grandparents, who saw the incident, told cops that Amit came with two men and stabbed her multiple times. Amit’s brother, Ayush, had allegedly committed suicide and Amit had blamed the girl for his death.The accused, after being arrested from Faridabad , told cops that he killed the girl to avenge his brother’s death. Ayush had a love marriage with the victim six months ago. He, however, committed suicide two months ago and no suicide note was recovered from the spot.Since then, the girl had returned to her family after her in-laws started blaming and taunting her for her husband’s death. On Monday, she went to her grandparents’ house but was being followed by Amit and his associates.Cops are scanning the CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the identity of the two suspects. The girl’s body was handed over to the family after autopsy.
