Heroin seized in Mohali, 'peddler' held

"As Bhatti reached the intersection, the team pounced on him and claimed to have seized 10 pouches of 3-gram heroin each. MOHALI: In the ongoing campaign against drug smuggling, a special task force (STF) of the local police arrested an alleged peddler here on Sunday and claimed to have seized 30-gram heroin from him.STF superintendent of police Rajinder Singh Sohal said: "Accused Yugam 'Sonu' Bhatti of Faridabad in Haryana had brought the drug from Delhi for his clients in Chandigarh, Mohali , and Kharar. The STF seek Bhatti's custody to know about his supplier. They say he told them during the preliminary interrogation that each gram of the drug was bought in Delhi for Rs 700 and sold in the region for up to Rs 3,000. Assistant sub-inspector Sukhvinder Singh led the team that caught him from the Madanpura roundabout based on a secret input that Bhatti would go there to deliver the drug to a regular customer.
