Indeed, cases of waste dumping in the hills have increased over the past couple of years.
GURUGRAM: Not many would know that a stretch around 700 metres long, off Rajesh Pilot Road in Ghata village, once formed a part of extensive ghats that rimmed a 370-acre lake .
The forest around the lake, meanwhile, continues to act as a significant catchment area and groundwater recharging point.
“We got to know about the site some three months ago, after following a tractor carrying waste to the forest area.
Of more consequence, this piece of land forms part of the wildlife corridor from Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary to Sariska Tiger Reserve.
