In fight for Faridabad, caste politics shadows local issues

Adjoining Delhi, the constituency has a significant influence of Jats, Gujjars, Meo-Muslims, Punjabis and Brahmins. CHANDIGARH: The results of Faridabad , one of the most important parliamentary seats in Haryana , would be influenced by caste. Muslims are in majority in Hathin assembly segment, while Jats dominate Palwal, Prithla, Faridabad and Ballabgarh. Gujjars have influence over Tigaon, Badkhal, Faridabad-NIT and Palwal. Avtar Singh Bhadana of the Congress and INLD’s R K Anand were second and third, respectively.
