Rainwater will not fill under three underpasses in the city. For this, the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) is preparing to get rid of waterlogging on the lines of Gurugram. The city has three underpasses NHPC located at Old Faridabad, Mewla Maharajpur, and Green Field Colony. The condition of all three remains very bad. On Wednesday, FMDA Chief Executive Officer Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Executive Officer Dr. Garima Mittal, and Engineering Department officials visited the three underpasses.

During the inspection, the issue of rainwater drainage was discussed here. Underpasses get submerged in water especially in the rainy season. The traffic system comes to a standstill. Due to waterlogging in the rain, the city gets divided into two parts. Sometimes drivers get caught in these. Its pressure falls on the outer roads. The speed of vehicles comes to a standstill on the national highway.

In such a situation, people have to face a huge problem. However, earlier efforts were made by the Haryana Urban Development Authority to get rid of water logging in the underpass. Large motors and pumps were installed but all attempts were unsuccessful.

Now once again FMDA has started efforts to drain the rainwater from the underpass. Under this, 50 HP high-capacity summer sewer pump sets will be installed on all three underpasses. It will have a capacity of 125 KVA. These pump sets will automatically start during the rainy season.
