GREATER NOIDA: Three members of a gang who escaped during an encounter in Eco-Tech I on Tuesday evening were arrested on Wednesday. Their accomplice, Robin, was arrested on Tuesday night after an exchange of fire with a police team. Police have recovered illegal weapons and Rs 2.24 lakh cash from their possession, which the accused had robbed from a father-son duo at gunpoint last week in Greater Noida. Dinesh (26), is from Bulandshahr while Naushad (25) and Nazakat (26) are from Rabupura in Greater Noida. GB Nagar SP (rural) Suniti said that on October 25, Bhupendra Kumar, a resident of Mirzapur in Rabupura, was returning with his father Hari Singh after withdrawing Rs 2 lakh from a Canara Bank branch. Kumar was riding the bike while his father was riding pillion with the cash bag. When they were near Acheja village, the accused came on two motorcycles and forced the duo to stop at gunpoint. They then snatched the cash bag and fled.A case of robbery was registered with Dankaur police station. The gang members later robbed a commuter of Rs 59,000 in Jewar and fled to Bulandshahr. Robin was arrested on Tuesday following a shootout.On Wednesday, based on Robin's interrogation details, the police launched a search in Dankaur where the suspects had escaped to. Suniti said a police team arrested the three criminals from the village.Police found four country-made guns, three mobile phones, Rs 2.24 lakh and a TVS apache from their possession."The accused were wanted in seven cases of robbery and loot in Greater Noida. They were produced in court and sent to judicial custody," said police. Shakil, the kingpin of this gang, was arrested by Faridabad police in 2016.
