Home alone 4-year-old falls off 10th floor balcony, dies

At around 5 pm Myra’s mother who is working lady had to go out for some work. GHAZIABAD: A four-year-old girl died after she allegedly slipped from the balcony of her 10th floor apartment in Indirapuram’s Jaipuria Sunrise society. The deceased Myra was alone in her house when the incident took place on Monday afternoon. “She must have been looking over the balcony when she slipped and fell” said a police official. Even though residents had started gathering no one took pains to rush her to a hospital.Ankit Choudhary then quickly brought his scooty and he along with Surender took her to nearby Shanti Gopal Hospital.

GHAZIABAD: A four-year-old girl died after she allegedly slipped from the balcony of her 10th floor apartment in Indirapuram’s Jaipuria Sunrise society. The deceased Myra was alone in her house when the incident took place on Monday afternoon. The society guards on duty rushed her to a hospital on a scooty but was declared brought dead by the doctors.While Myra’s parents and relatives who were in a state of shock refused to speak to the media, society guard Ankit Choudhary says “at around 5.35 Surender a guard who was on duty near F-tower heard a thud sound and he rushed to the spot only to see body of child lying with her face down.” “He immediately flashed the message that a child has fallen down and I rushed to the spot” added Choudhary. “I took the child in my arms and shook her, there was blood all over her face , head and chin, she did not respond” continued Choudhary.Surender by that time had grabbed a megaphone and was yelling ‘whose child is this.’ “We had no idea who the child and even residents who had gathered could not identify the child” said Choudhary. Even though residents had started gathering no one took pains to rush her to a hospital.Ankit Choudhary then quickly brought his scooty and he along with Surender took her to nearby Shanti Gopal Hospital. “It was then that Surender identified the child and said to me that the child lives in flat number F-1001 and he said that he knew the father of the child” said Choudhary.After reaching hospital Myra’s parents were informed but the doctors after examining Myra decalred her ‘brought dead.’ Dr Anil Kumar , CMO of Shanti Gopal Hospital says “the girl was brought to the hospital at 5.50 pm, she had suffered trauma in scalp and internal bleeding, I suspect she was already dead.” Soon after Myra’s father Manish Sachdeva and her mother arrived at the hospital.Myra’s father Manish Sachdeva who deals in medical equipment and was away for work. She was with her 12-year old sister Pari and her mother. At around 5 pm Myra’s mother who is working lady had to go out for some work. “Myra was sleeping when her mother went out leaving her in the care of her elder sister" said a resident who did not wished to be named. “Elder sister Pari was getting late for her tuition classes so she bolted the door from outside and left leaving Myra asleep" added the neighbor.It is suspected that Myra must have woken up and finding no one home dragged baby chair to the balcony and stood over it. “She must have been looking over the balcony when she slipped and fell” said a police official. "The possibility of Myra slipping from the chair looks logical as she was wearing socks at the time of death” said the official.Meanwhile Myra’s parents refused autopsy and in a statement to police has said that it was a case of accident. Her body was cremated along Hindon river on Tuesday.
