GHAZIABAD: In yet another encounter two robbers sustained gunshot injuries when they were trying flee in Sahibabad area on Wednesday after robbing a man of his bike and mobile . A sub inspector was injured in the incident and had to be rushed to nearby hospital where his condition is said to be stable.Sahibabad resident Naresh Tomar was on his way back home on his bike when three men on another bike signaled him to stop near Aradhna Mod . “As soon as he stopped the robbers fished out a revolver and asked him to get off his bike ” said Akash Tomar , SP city. “While one robber took his bike while the other two snatched his mobile phone and sped away ” added Tomar.The victim Naresh Tomar showing presence of mind borrowed phone from a passerby and called police. “He gave us is location and the direction where the robs had fled following which a message was flashed along with description of the bike” said Akash Tomar. The robbers were intercepted by police party near DLF school in the area which is half a kilometer from the scene of crime.Three police parties cornered the robbers who according to police opened fired at them. “About six round were fired on us forcing us to retaliate in which two robbers sustained bullet injuries in their legs while the third one managed to flee” said Akash Tomar. “A sub inspector Anjani Kumar also sustained gunshot injuries in the ensuing exchange of fire and had to be rushed to Narender Mohan hospital where his condition is said to be stable ” added TomarThe robbers have been identified as Taslem alias Bhoora (32) and Farooq (26) who were active in Delhi-NCR. They have been admitted to a private hospital and are being questioned about the identity of his another accomplice.
