GHAZIABAD: Six members of an interstate robbery gang including an MBA student have been arrested for robbing a Mother Dairy milk distributor of Rs 13.5 lakh on June 4 in Vaishali. They were arrested on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday from near a bridge in Sector 5 and 6 in Vaishali. Five luxury cars including an Audi , i20 and an XUV, besides five rifles have also been recovered from their possession.The arrested have been identified as Sonu Bhati, a resident of Ghanghola village in Greater Noida , Rajkumar, Subham, both residents of Fatehpur Beri, Deepak Sharma, a resident of Vaishali in Ghaziabad, Naimkar, a resident of Surajpur in Gautam Budh Nagar, and Parvez Hasan, a resident of Gulaothi in Bulandshahr. Two other members including one Dharmendra are absconding presently.According to police, the plan to rob the milk distributor was hatched by his nephew Sonu Bhati, who was in dire need of money to proceed with the murder case of his brother.Ghaziabad SSP Vaibhav Krishna said, “The plan was hatched by Sonu Bhati, whose brother Nawab Bhati is lodged in Dasna jail for around one year in a murder case of a parking contractor Mintu Gurjar in Indirapuram in July 2017. Sonu had hatched the plan to loot the milk distributor, Devender Chandel, two months back in Ghaziabad court with Nawab when he had come there for an appearance in a case.”Sonu gave the information about Chandel’s movement to other gang members. Around 4pm on June 4, Rajkumar, Dharmendra, Subham and Deepak robbed Chandel outside a Punjab National bank branch in Sector 2, Vaishali. The SSP informed Rs 11.55 lakh of the looted money has been recovered. With the arrests, police claimed to have solved at least 10 cases of loot and robbery committed by the gang in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon.“Deepak has been pursuing MBA from Sikkim Manipal University and his father runs a bakery in Vaishali. He joined the gang for earning easy money. Parvez ran an automobile garage and the gang used it as a hideout for stolen vehicles. The Audi car was stolen from Safdarjung Enclave this year itself. We have been able to solve the case of car robbery as well,” added Krishna.Police said the gang has a connection with Sunder Bhati gang and is also suspected to be involved in contract killing
