Ghaziabad: A 35-year-old teacher was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly molesting and trying to rape a minor girl in Loni’s Ashok Vihar area.The teacher was caught red-handed on Monday at the girl’s home after her parents installed a camera . The teacher, identified as Satpal, a resident of Laxmi Garden, was handed over to police after he was thrashed by locals. “An FIR under sections 376 (rape), 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life), 354 (molestation) and under relevant sections of the POCSO Act was registered. The girl has been sent for medical examination,” said SHO (Loni) Umesh Kumar Pandey.According to the girl’s father, a doctor, the teacher had been giving his two children – the girl and a younger son – tuition for the past one month. He was a teacher at the girl’s school and because of that he was hired by the parents to give them tuition during the summer vacation.The girl initially could not tell her parents about the teacher’s inappropriate behaviour out of fear. However, on Monday she told her parents about the trauma she was undergoing. In order to catch the teacher red-handed, the girl’s father installed a mobile camera in the room.On Tuesday, the teacher repeated his act which was captured on camera. The girl’s father along with some locals confronted the teacher, but he denied any wrongdoing. They showed him the video and thrashed him. He was handed over to police.
