GHAZIABAD: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday held one of the biggest meetings of BJP in Ghaziabad in recent months which saw MPs, MLAs and ministers in his cabinet, apart from the office-bearers from 19 western UP districts attending it. The meeting was reportedly convened to draw a fresh strategy for the party in the wake of BJP’s humiliating defeats in the bypolls in Kairana, Phulpur and in Yogi’s citadel Gorakhpur.Addressing media persons after the meeting, Yogi Adityanath lauded the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation for its swachh bharat ranking. He also listed his government’s achievements. “People from 12,000 villages in the state have gained from 125 welfare schemes launched by state and central governments,” said Adityanath. “We have re-started three sugarcane mills in the western UP districts while two more have been revamped,” he added.Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh said that in the wake of opposition joining hands, it is all the more important that the party and the government work hand-in-hand in propagating good work done by the government. “The one takeaway from Monday’s meet is that that chief minister made it very clear that the party at the organizational level work in close coordination with the government in spreading the good work,” he said.The BJP had earlier organized similar meetings in Braj zone under which comes Agra, Mathura etc and in Awadh zone which includes Lucknow, and in Kanpur and Gorakhpur.At least 14 MPs and 59 MLAs attended the meet, said sources.
