GHAZIABAD: Four persons were booked on Tuesday after a 75-year-old woman was attacked with knives by her two sons and their wives over a property dispute in Kanawani village.An FIR has been registered under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC against Omkar and his wife Surekha, and Omdutt and Anita.The victim Jayanti Devi suffered cuts on her hands and legs and is in the hospital in a critical condition.In her complaint, Mithilesh, Jayanti Devi’s daughter, wrote that her brothers Omkar and Omdutt had thrown their mother out of their home one-and-half-years ago. It was only registered on Tuesday evening after they approached the district administration and lodged a written complaint.However, SHO (Indirapuram) Sachin Malik refuted the allegations and said the police had gone thrice to the victim’s house to get an FIR lodged, but they had refused to do so. Further investigation is now going on, he added.
