One shopkeeper said they have suffered losses to the tune of Rs 8 crore in the three days since the shops were sealed.“We held talks with GDA over sealing of Indirapuram Habitat Center but it yielded no results. We then approached Allahabad HC against the decision and the court has accepted our case and it is expected to take up the case on Monday,” said general manager Yudhveer Singh.“We still maintain that GDA’s claim of Rs 49 crore dues with us is not correct. Last December we were given relief by HC, and this time too, we will get reprieve from the court,” he added.Shopkeepers are left helpless and clueless and their attempts to reach out to the IHC owner and GDA have not yielded any results.“We have been told by GDA that the sealing would be undone only after the IHC owner deposits the pending dues. On Saturday, we tried to meet local MP V K Singh but it didn’t happen,” said Anuj Mittal, who owns restaurant ‘Paprika Park’ at the centre.Madhur Gupta, who owns Monarch Restaurant here, said, “On weekdays IHC used to do business of between Rs 2 to Rs 2.5 crore which goes up to Rs 4 crore on weekends. However, in the last three days we have lost Rs 8 crore and this is a huge loss. The livelihood of 2,000-odd staffers, who work in different outlets in IHC, is at stake. If the sealing continues for another week, we will be forced to discontinue their services to minimise losses.”“We hope a solution can be found. However, if it doesn’t happen, we will go on a hunger strike against the GDA to protest its decision,” said Anuj Mittal.
