17-year-old goes out with friends, found murdered

GHAZIABAD: A 17-year old boy was found dead with a gunshot wound in the abdomen barely an hour after he had left home with two friends.Manish and Titu, friends of the 17-year old deceased Saurabh, have been booked in a case of murder . Saurabh’s body was found in a deserted area 2km from his home in Surana.Saurabh, who had been preparing to get into the Army after passing his Class X exams, had left home around 10am on Friday with Manish and Titu on a motorbike. Saurabh’s relatives said he was found bleeding with a gunshot wound in the abdomen near a cooking gas agency around 11am.His father Naresh, a driver with a private firm in Gurgaon, told TOI Saurabh was very close to Manish and Titu. “I had left for office in the morning. Around 11am, Manish called my younger son Sachin and told him Saurabh had been shot and needed to be taken away from the spot. Sachin rushed to the spot and found Saurabh lying under a tree bleeding profusely. Titu was not there at the spot. Sachin and Manish took Saurabh to a private hospital. My son had been declared dead by the time I reached,” Naresh said.Saurabh’s family has ruled out any case of enmity with his friends. An FIR pertaining to murder has been registered in Muradnagar police station.“The body has been sent for post-mortem. The boy died of a single gunshot wound on his abdomen. Manish and Titu have not been able to give a satisfactory explanation on the circumstances under which Saurabh was shot. Both boys are unemployed,” Ghaziabad SP (Rural) Arvind Maurya said.
