Crash barriers of the Hindon Elevated Road have theme paintings upon them while the railing is of orange colour. The colours of the crash barriers and railings in the social media video are different. A 100-meter stretch of the elevated road at the down ramp at UP Gate was submerged with overflowing water from the Hindon canal following the rains. The road is totally safe for travel,” said Maheshwari. The inspection team was led by GDA chief engineer VN Singh.“Not all pillars of the elevated road are buried inside the ground up to the same height. The six-lane road had been thrown open to public by UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath on March 30.“The video of an elevated road submerged in water, which went viral on social media on Thursday, was also not from Ghaziabad.

GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Development Authority GDA ) has dispelled rumours that the Hindon Elevated Road has been rendered unfit for plying of vehicles after heavy rains, following an inspection on Friday.Ritu Maheshwari, the vice-chairperson of the GDA, said that videos circulating on social media platforms about waterlogging on the elevated road were not from Ghaziabad.Maheshwari further added that all pillars of the elevated road were found perfectly safe following Friday’s inspection. There had been reports that soil washed off from the base of a pillar had exposed its foundation and rendered the road unsafe for travel. On Friday, a team of engineers conducted an inspection of pillar number 187 where soil had been displaced from its base.“Soil on the footpath at the base of this particular pillar had been washed away in the rains. However, the pillar stands upon a pier which goes 30 meters deep into the ground. Washing away of top soil has not affected the structure. We had begun repair work at the site on Thursday night itself. The road is totally safe for travel,” said Maheshwari. The inspection team was led by GDA chief engineer VN Singh.“Not all pillars of the elevated road are buried inside the ground up to the same height. Adjoining pillars have greater portions exposed above the ground than pillar number 187 where some amount of topsoil has been washed away,” Singh told TOI.The 10.3-km-long elevated road has 227 pillars between UP Gate and Rajnagar Extension. On Thursday, a video purportedly showing the road inundated in water had also gone viral on social media platforms inviting criticism from users over the allegedly shoddy nature of construction work undertaken on the project. The six-lane road had been thrown open to public by UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath on March 30.“The video of an elevated road submerged in water, which went viral on social media on Thursday, was also not from Ghaziabad. The colours of the crash barriers and railings in the social media video are different. A 100-meter stretch of the elevated road at the down ramp at UP Gate was submerged with overflowing water from the Hindon canal following the rains. But the accumulated water has been pumped out,” said Maheshwari.
