GHAZIABAD: Investigators are probing the role of one of the daughters in the murder of a 75-year-old woman, who was found dead inside her house in Ghaziabad on August 17. The house of the woman, Kamlesh Sharma, had been ransacked and the jewellery she was wearing had been wrenched away when the body was found in the washroom.The woman is survived by six daughters and used to live alone in the ground floor of her three-storey house in Patel Nagar 2 following the death of her husband who used to work with Delhi Electricity Supply Undertaking. “From the investigations so far, we have learnt that the woman had written a will naming one of her daughters as the sole heir of all her property. We have been told that this daughter wanted to eliminate the woman as soon as possible so that she did not change her mind. We have not been able to connect all the dots so far though this is one of the major angles along which investigations are underway. CCTV footage obtained from near her house have not been of any help,” said SHO, Sihani Gate police station, Sanjay Pandey.The probe has found that the entry into the house was not forced. Police have registered an FIR under Section 460 (causing death during house trespass or break-in) of the IPC against “unidentified persons” at Sihani Gate police station.Locals have told police about a man seen leaving the house early in the morning after locking the door from outside. Police have also recovered broken bits of a red bangle from the washroom where the woman was found lying dead. The woman’s family members have told police that they did not have any past case of enmity with any outsider.
