GHAZIABAD: Two minor boys were arrested from Choudhary Mod in Sihani Gate area on Saturday for robbing cash and gold ornaments from a temple in Bulandshahr that was worth Rs 9 lakh Police recovered the stolen ornaments and cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh from the possession of the two boys aged 14 and 15 years old. They had targeted the temple located in a village in Bulandshahr’s Khurja area on July 25, 2017. The rest of the money was splurged by them in partying and buying a 54-inch LED TV and a home theatre, police said. An FIR was lodged in Khurja on the complaint of the temple priest Ram Kishan.Prior to that, the duo had stolen Rs 55,000 from a locked house in Ghaziabad on July 6.Both of them were produced in a juvenile court that sent them to an observation home. The accused would also invite local boys at their room for booze parties.Police said the two boys had come to Ghaziabad in search of work and were living in a rented accommodation in Nandgram area.Ghaziabad SSP Vaibhav Krishna said the accused would conduct a recce in morning and then target the locked house and temples during late night hours.
