Teen working at businessman’s home goes missing

GHAZIABAD: A 15-year-old girl, who was working as a domestic help at a businessman’s house in Kavi Nagar, is missing for over a month. The girl’s father had filed a missing person’s complaint at Kavi Nagar police station on August 4. SSP Vaibhav Krishna met the protesters and assured them that an inquiry is underway and several persons had been questioned. After the police failed to trace the girl, her parents along with Congress activists staged a protest at the SSP’s office on Friday demanding swift action. However, when she did not return home till evening, we went there to enquire about her.

After the police failed to trace the girl, her parents along with Congress activists staged a protest at the SSP’s office on Friday demanding swift action. SSP Vaibhav Krishna met the protesters and assured them that an inquiry is underway and several persons had been questioned. The girl’s father had filed a missing person’s complaint at Kavi Nagar police station on August 4. In his complaint, the father, Irshad, had stated that his daughter did not return home on the evening of August 2.“On August 2 morning, she had left home to work at a bungalow in Kavi Nagar. However, when she did not return home till evening, we went there to enquire about her. We were told that she had not come to work. Despite several efforts, she could not be traced,” Irshad said.While staging a protest at the SSP’s office, the girl’s parents alleged the involvement of her employers in her disappearance.“Another maid , who worked at the bungalow, had told us that she had seen her working at the bungalow that day. However, we were told that she was not there at all,” Irshad said.Congress leader Dolly Sharma said, “The SSP has told us that no one has been given a clean-chit in the matter and an inquiry is going on. We will wait for another 10 days, and if the police fail to produce any results by that time, we will stage a bigger protest.”Notably, the businessman is the brother of a serving IPS officer.
