Ghaizabad: A 22-year-old woman was murdered and her partially burnt body was dumped by her killers near a plush housing society in Raj Nagar Extension of Ghaziabad . The body was found on the side of a road near Brave Hearts Residency on September 26. Police later identified the woman as Meenakshi.On Friday, the cops received the autopsy report but have failed to ascertain the cause of death from it.An FIR has been lodged against unknown persons at Sihani Gate police station under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence). The woman’s body was identified by her sister, Swati, who lives in Jatwada area with her family, after police circulated its images on the social media.At around 10 am on September 26, cops received information about the body from one Mohit Chaudhary (25), a cattle fodder trader.“I was travelling for work from my home in Garhi when I noticed a group of people huddled around something on the road. I went there to find the crowd pointing at a partially burnt body on the road. I immediately informed the local police outpost,” Chaudhary told TOI.Swati has told police that Meenakshi got married to a man from Nepal nearly three years ago. However, the couple had been living separately after the death of their infant daughter around one year ago. Meenakshi used to live alone in Harsaon earlier but had shifted to a rented accommodation in Patel Nagar recently, her sister has reportedly told police.Police said Meenakshi’s husband is yet to be traced. As per sources, Meenakshi had a name “Pankaj” tattooed on her right arm which is the only clue cops have as of now. Police suspect Pankaj could be the name of Meenakshi’s estranged husband. Sources also said there seemed to be certain external injury marks on the woman’s body.
