I don’t understand why,” she said.According to Divya, not more than 10-12 women have been visiting this pink toilet a day. “We charge only Rs 5 per user. I don’t think the amount is too much, given the facilities we are providing,” she added. The pink toilet at RDC is equipped with two Indian style lavatories and one Western. “The pink toilet also has a rest room where lactating women can feed their children. There is also a machine to dispense sanitary napkins. Users can get all these at Rs 5 only,” Divya said.Apart from the one at RDC, two pink toilets have been built at the Kaushambi bus depot and another in Turab Nagar area. “The spots were selected after a survey. They are also situated in prominent places and have CCTV cameras installed outside.”The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation intends to construct more pink toilets across the city.Singh claims that with time and awareness campaigns, the footfall will increase.
