GHAZIABAD: The district traffic police has formed 15 quick response teams, each comprising of six personnel, to enforce traffic rules in the city. The teams will guard the roads during peak traffic hours at 10 main points in the city and at five spots in rural areas . The team is already in action for the past three days."Currently, we are concentrating on traffic regulation, but QRTs have been formed to enforce traffic rules, and for that each team has been given a dedicated four-wheeler which will be headed by one traffic sub-inspector who will have five constables under him. The QRTs have been bestowed with the power to issue challan to the violators and it has been three days since the teams were deployed and the results are encouraging," said SSP Vaibhav Krishna said.The violations that will be dealt with by the QRTs on priority basis are vehicles with faulty and no number plates, wrong lane driving and triple riding on two-wheelers. The 10 spots in city where QRTs have been deployed are ABES cut, near Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology in Raj Nagar Extension, VVIP Addresses society, Passport office, CISF cut near Model town, Chhajarsi cut, UP Gate, Maharajpur, stretch to Vasundhara near Mohan Nagar.
