Illegal slaughterhouse raided, three booked

GHAZIABAD: An illegal slaughterhouse was raided on Friday morning in Sangam Park area and over 1,000 kg of meat was seized. “Khoda is one such prime area which is being used to run this illegal business. The executive officer informed that following the order, several people shifted their business to nearby areas. We will be conducting more such raids in coming days,” added the officer. The raid was conducted after police received a tip-off that a large number of poultry had been culled there.The slaughterhouse was being run in a double-storey building.K K Bhadana, executive officer of Khoda Nagar Palika Parishad said, “The information was found to be true and three persons, Mohammad Imran, Aftab and Furkan, all three residents of Delhi’s Daryanganj area, were found running the slaughterhouse.

They told us that they had rented the place from one Shravan Baghel.”On the complaint filed by Bhadana, an FIR has been registered against all the three for running the slaughterhouse illegally, harming public health, causing environmental pollution and disturbing law and order situation in the area.On September 24, 2018, the Delhi high court had banned slaughter of birds at Ghazipur chicken market. The executive officer informed that following the order, several people shifted their business to nearby areas. “Khoda is one such prime area which is being used to run this illegal business. We will be conducting more such raids in coming days,” added the officer.
