GHAZIABAD: A 30-year-old man, who had shot at his wife and father-in-law in Kavi Nagar two weeks ago, has now threatened to kill her and her family if they do not take back the cases registered against him.The man, Kapil Yadav sent the threatening message to his wife’s uncle on Friday through a two-minute-long WhatsApp video. He has given her the deadline of November 10 to withdraw the FIRs. In the video, Kapil said that if he has to go to the jail, it should be for murder rather than attempt to murder.On October 12, Kapil had shot at his wife Moni Yadav (21) six times while her father Mukesh Yadav (40) twice for refusing dowry. Due to the attack, the left side of Moni’s body is paralysed. An FIR was lodged against Kapil, his father Satpal Yadav, uncle Gabri and friend Shiva under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) at Kavi Nagar police station. Apart from this, an another FIR was registered against Kapil in July this year for wrongful confinement and voluntarily causing hurt on the basis of a complaint filed by Moni’s family.Following the threat, Kapil has now also been booked under Section 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) of the IPC. SHO of Kavi Nagar police station Rojant Tyagi said, “Efforts have been intensified to arrest the accused.”
