4 carjackers arrested from Ghaziabad's Muradnagar

GHAZIABAD: The police, on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, arrested four robbers who had allegedly robbed an Ola cab driver in Noida. "In the meantime we received message from our Meerut counterpart of the robbery along with the details shared by victims", added Singh. The accused after dumping the driver at an isolated spot in Ghaziabad drove to Meerut and on the pretext of giving lift they targeted two gullible commuters. "They asked me to drive even though I objected saying he has no booking in their names" said Sahid.

They were intercepted by police near Muradnagar and after brief resistance from them were arrested."On the intervening night of Friday and Saturday four accused identified as Vikas, his namesake Vikas, Sandeep and Lokesh were driving towards Ghaziabad from Meeurt in a stolen Hundai Ascent bearing Delhi registration number have been arrested" said Umesh Bahudur Singh, SHO, Muradnagar police station."Actually we were on lookout for stolen car after message was flashed that four accused had robbed an Ola cab driver in Noida and when they were spotted near Jhilmil cut we chased them after they tried to flee and arrested them”, added Singh.An Ola cab driver Sahid was waiting for passenger near Noida sector 63 on Friday evening when four accused approached them and forcibly sat in his car. "They asked me to drive even though I objected saying he has no booking in their names" said Sahid."I reluctantly started driving when one of them took out a pistol which I realized later was a toy pistol and at a desolate spot shoved me to backseat while one of them took to wheel and drove towards Muradnagar where they dumped me after taking my phone", added Sahid who walked up to the police station and reported the matter.The accused told cops that they drove to Meerut before making return journey to Ghaziabad. "On the way they picked up two commuters identified as Gaurav Bhatia and Ashish Arora and robbed them as well of their phone and cash" said Singh. "In the meantime we received message from our Meerut counterpart of the robbery along with the details shared by victims", added Singh.
