Police said Rahul had come to Ghaziabad to meet a friend near Signature City.He was picked up by a police patrol van after a woman accused him of harassing her.The mob that barged into the police station included Rahul’s brother Suraj and father Ranveer and a few women. The district magistrate, to whom the request had been made, gave permission.After Rahul’s arrest, his relatives had barged into the police station late on December 3 night and freed him after the cops on duty did not allow them to offer the accused fish and liquor. The dozen-odd relatives of Rahul, a resident of Khyala in Delhi, also thrashed a constable with rods and sticks, broke furniture, ransacked the police station and fled before reinforcements could arrive.Constable Devi Pal, who was on the duty at that time, was attacked with sticks and suffered injuries to the head and upper part of the body.The mob even broke a wireless set so that no additional force could reach the police station on time. GHAZIABAD: The brother of a youth, accused of molesting a woman, has been booked under the National Security Act after he and his family members created a ruckus at Tronica City police station and tried to release him forcibly on the night of December 3 last year.At that time, an FIR had been registered against 12 persons, including the accused Rahul, his brother Suraj and father Ranveer for attacking cops and damaging property of the police station.Police said Suraj had been trying to get a bail in the case and there was apprehension that his release might lead to law and order problems.The police recommended that NSA be slapped against Rahul.
