The association has been reluctant to pay up the acquisition fee on the ground that 34 acres of land were acquired directly from farmers who have been compensated, and since GDA had no role to play in this, it cannot demand acquisition fee from them. The 35 acres of land near Raj Nagar Extension has been purchased from the farmers by UPCA at a cost of Rs 80 crore. The association has plans to invest about 500 crore for developing the stadium and for that they are in talks with the makers of the Amsterdam Arena.
